Arielle Twist is a writer and sex educator from George Gordon First Nation, Saskatchewan who currently lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is a Cree, Two-Spirit, trans femme supernova writing to reclaim and harness ancestral magic and memories. In her first year of pursuing writing, she has attended Naked Heart, the largest LGBTQ literary festival in the world, published an essay with and participated in a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity to focus on her debut collection of poetry. Twist will be facilitating a Q+A session with US composer Sarah Hennies following the Canadian premier of her film, Contralto, which explores transfeminine identity through the intersections of sound and gender.
